The Purchase Advisory Committees ( PAC ) under Water Resources Department were formed by Government of Maharashtra vide Government Resolution No.MCN-1184/(67/84)/PRJ.I. Mantralaya, Mumbai-400032 dt. 10 th March 1984 in order to streamline the work of procurement of machineries, equipments & stores items.
Purchase Advisory Committees ( C ) & Purchase Advisory Committees ( E ) have headquarter at Yantriki Bhavan, Dapodi, Pune. while Purchase Advisory Committees ( A ) has headquarter at Mantralaya, Mumbai.

Light construction machineries such as trucks, tippers, water tankers, road rollers, air compressors, concrete mixers, etc
Other machineries & equipments costing more than Rs. 25,000 per piece Structural steel, MS Plates, MS Round Bars, including billets, blooms, slabs required for re-rolling
The Purchasing items for Purchase Advisory Committees (E) are:
Miscellaneous Stores items such as paints, G.I. pipe, Reduction Gear Boxes, Electromagnetic brakes, Welding rods, Pig Iron, Cast Iron Scrap, Steel Wire Ropes, Bearings, Electric Starters, Electric motors, Zinc, etc All machineries & equipments costing more than Rs. 25,000 per piece.
